Amiibo + Loot Crate

Loot Crate and Nintendo have teamed to send out the highly anticipated Amiibo NFC (near field communication) Figures.

Here's what I know...
  • There will be 10 pre-selected figures sent out through 3 different crates.
  • The crates will be sent out throughout the Holiday season.
  • It's a separate Subscription.
  • Mario, Yoshi, Pikachu, Donkey Kong, and Fox are the only figures announced so far
  • There will likely be bonus items in each crate.

There's very little information regarding the partnership, but it's exciting nonetheless.
I'm curious to know the pricing + which other figures will be included in the subscription service.

More Details on Attack On Titan & Marvel Crossover Revealed

Remember when earlier this week I posted about an Attack on Titan / Marvel crossover?

Well, there are now more details!

Brutus (Japanese pop culture magazine) has revealed some new details regarding the upcoming Marvel Comics / Attack on Titan crossover manga (via CrunchyRoll).

The magazine’s November issue preview, Brutus 790 will feature a What If…? story that sees the Avengers battling the Female Titan from in New York City...but C.B. Cebulski tweeted that that the crossover will take place in Japan...

The issue will also feature thoughts on the crossover and the characters from Attack on Titan creator Hajime Isayama. Isayama will draw a Titan sticker and the cover for the issue, but they haven't said who will actually be drawing the story itself...

Ryan Reynolds... is he Deadpool?

So with the leaked test footage we got a taste of Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with the Mouth.
Sure, we got to see him on the big screen as Wade Wilson in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but DP fans don't really count that.
Sure, Reynolds was a good Wade Wilson, the character was just severely misused.

The Test footage gave everyone hope that a DP movie wasn't just a project stuck in development hell.

Fox recently announced a Deadpool movie, but there was no word on who will play everyone's favorite mercenary.

Was Reynolds still playing DP, or did the studio choose to go with someone else?

When asked about who will be playing him, Deadpool Creator Rob Liefeld said:

"Ryan is Deadpool. Look, Ryan Reynolds, he’s gone through that same career arc, the guy is ridiculously talented. He has a huge, huge passion for Deadpool. Deadpool’s not happening, because he was a giant star, they said, ‘Ryan, what do you want to do?’ And he said, ‘Deadpool.’ That’s why it happened. They would have no faith otherwise. That movie is because of his passion. He put together the team."

If Liefeld says it's happening, it's happening.

I'm excited.
I like Ryan Reynolds, I liked him as Deadpool in the Test Footage...
and I'm now excited that it's gonna happen.

February 12, 2016 people!

In the mean time, enjoy the test footage.

Marvel Comics Crossover with Attack on Titan

C.B. Cebulsky (talent scout for Marvel Comics) tweeted this amazing series of tweets...

I've never been so excited for a Manga in my life.
The 3D Maneuver Gear has always reminded me of Spider-Man, and I wouldn't doubt that he had something to do with the inspiration.
Being that it's a "What If" Scenario, I'm sure it's not canon, so all of my purists can breathe easy.

Thoughts on Black Panther

When this was announced I was ecstatic.
Actually, I still am.
I'm extremely excited by the fact that we'll finally get a Black Panther Movie.

It's something I've been waiting for since I was first introduced to the character.
He's such an interesting and unique character that I'm surprised he hasn't gotten a movie before...
heck, even an Animated series would've been awesome.

Either way, I'm excited, and I think the suit looks AWESOME.

Also, Chadwick Boseman will play an awesome King T'Challa.

November 3, 2017 can't come soon enough...

2017 HURRY UP.

Civil War

Not too long ago Robert Downey Jr. Had announced that he will play a major role in Captain America 3.
This lead to rumors about the Civil War storyline being used.

So there was no surprise when Marvel Announced today that Captain America 3 would be titled "Captain America: Civil War"

The Fanboy in me is extremely excited but is also extremely worried.

For those of you who don't know, the Civil War storyline takes place where Captain America and Iron Man disagree on whether or not Superheroes should register with the Government.
Iron Man is for it, Captain America is against it. This leads to a war between sides.

It sounds awesome, because it is...
The problem?
Aside from the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy there haven't been any heroes that have already been established.

Sure we have the X-Men and Spider-Man but Marvel doesn't own the rights to those franchises.
Those rights are with Fox and Sony.

Marvel has a ton of characters at their disposal, so it wouldn't be hard to pull it off...
How will they pull it off?

Will it be good?

Now we gotta wait for

Benedict Cumberbatch to play Doctor Strange

Apparently Sherlock Holmes himself is Marvel's choice to play  Doctor Strange.

There's nothing official yet, but that's the word on the street...

I personally like this casting choice.
Cumberbatch is an excellent actor and he can pull it off.

His star power alone will probably bring in viewers who have never heard of Doctor Strange and wouldn't watch the movie otherwise.

Just imagine, Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hiddleston (Loki) possibly sharing the screen together?

Tumblr might explode if that ever happens.

Big Hero 6

I love Disney.
and although I consider myself more of a DC Guy, I also love Marvel Comics.
Both companies played HUGE parts in my childhood.

They helped shape me into who I am today.

So when I read that Disney was producing an animated feature based on a Marvel Comics property, I was pretty stoked.

I was more than just stoked, I was extremely excited.

Disney has taken some creative freedoms... but I'll withhold any judgement until I actually watch the movie.
I do admit that I like what I see.

Based on the trailers and teasers released, this movie will more than likely be a hit.

I got a chance to see an exclusive sneak preview at Disneyland on Thursday.
Judging by the reaction of the crowd, it's going to do well.
All of the kids seemed to enjoy it, as did their parents.

Will it do as well as Frozen?

Disney is heavily promoting it.
Baymax can be seen all over the park.

Here's the trailer:

DC's Movie Schedule

DC released their movie schedule through the year 2020 starting with Man of Steel 2 in 2016.

I've been meaning to talk about it since it was announced.
Being an adult with responsibilities hindered me for a bit,

but here I am...
So here's the schedule:

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
Suicide Squad

Wonder Woman
Justice League Part One

The Flash

Justice League Part Two

Green Lantern

My thoughts?

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice:
Everyone knew this was happening... I just hope it's good.

Suicide Squad:

Wonder Woman:
It's about time.

Justice League Part One:
No surprise here. Batman v Superman is practically a Justice League movie.

The Flash:
Not based on the show, but I like the Flash... I just hope Ezra Miller plays a good Barry Allen.

I'm sure Jason Mamoa can play a good Aquaman.
Aquaman gets no repect. He's a badass yet everyone makes fun of him.
Hopefully this shows the rest of the world he's not some guy with dumb powers.

With The Rock playing Black Adam right?

Justice League Part Two:
Also not a surprise.

This one has me excited.
He's supposed to have a cameo in Batman v. Superman so we'll see how that goes.

Green Lantern:
As long as it's better than the last movie...
Now the question is...
Which Green Lantern are they going to focus on?

One thought for ALL of these films...
Hopefully they're good.

DC hasn't had the best track record when it comes to feature films as of late.

Age of Ultron Trailer

Marvel announced that there was going to be an exclusive trailer for Age of Ulton on Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D.

The internet said "NOPE" and leaked it.
This is why we can't have nice things...
That's not to say I didn't watch it...

But Marvel knowing that they can't stop it once it's leaked, they officially released it...
ABC must be pissed...
this would've gotten Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D. so much attention.

Here's the trailer:

All I gotta say is...

Thoughts on Arrow (Season 3)

If you haven't watched Arrow, I'd suggest watching it on Netflix.

But here are my thoughts on Arrow's Season 3 premiere.

I really enjoyed it.

Like I usually do, I want to keep this as Spoiler Free....
It was a great way to start off Season 3.

I personally feel that Season 2's premiere was a little better,
but overall this episode has my hyped for the rest of the season.

There are also rumors swirling around regrading a Flash/Arrow crossover later this season...
Heck yes!

Thoughts on The Flash

Thoughts on Flash?

I REALLY like it.
Like... a lot.

I think it did a fantastic job with the Pilot.

I don't want to spoil anything, but it's a fun show to watch.
It really feels like a comic book brought to life.

Unlike Arrow which has a much darker tone to it,
Flash isn't afraid to have fun.

I don't have anything negative to say about this show...
I like every actor (so far)
and I love John Wesley Ship (The Flash from the 90s show) playing Barry's dad.

I'll keep watching.

Krispy Kreme Ghostbusters Donuts (Review)

Full disclosure:
I am no food expert, but I have eaten food my whole life.

Two of my favorite things...
Donuts and Ghostbusters.

Ghostbusters is currently celebrating it's 30th anniversary and to help Celebrate Krispy Kreme has a few Ghostbusters themed donuts.

The donuts are pretty much a cream filled donut.
The filling is appropriately enough Marshmallow flavored.

How are they?
They're pretty darn tasty.

Being cream filled was the best route to go in my honest opinion.
Not sure if it's intentional or not, but they reminded me of a bigger (tastier) Twinkie.

The taste of the marshmallow isn't overpowering but it's not subtle either.
There's no doubt it tastes like marshmallow.

The donuts come in two variants.
Ghostbusters logo with Slimer's slime and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man's head.
Both are marshmallow cream filled.
Both taste exactly the same.

So it seems like a missed opportunity.
Maybe the Slimer donut could've had a green apple filling?

It would've added more variety outside of a cosmetic one.
But I don't know the logistics of the whole situation.

Overall I highly recommend them to any Ghostbusters fans who like sweets.

They get an 9/10 from me.

There are no Donuts. Only Zuul.

Thoughts on Pokémon remakes

With Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire on the way, I think I should take some time and talk about remakes.

Ever since Gamefreak remade Pokémon Red & Blue (FireRed & LeafGreen) Pokéfans began hoping for remakes of the other Pokémon games.
And when Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver (remakes of Pokémon Gold & Silver) were announced/released remakes have become expected by fans.

But When is appropriate to remake a game?
How long is long enough?

The answers to those questions vary depending on who you're asking.
I personally don't know how to answer that question.
And to be honest I don't know how I feel about remakes.

Sure they're exciting since I get to replay a game I love, but that's the problem...
I'm replaying a game.

Wouldn't it make just as much sense to pick up an old Gameboy GamePak and play the originals I grew up playing?

Well, the older the game, the harder it is to come by.

And not everyone has the luxury of owning an original Gameboy Color with every Pokémon game.

So in this case, remakes are a welcome substitute.

It gives new fans explore a part of Pokémon history, while giving older fans a chance to re-explore a familiar game with enhance graphics and new mechanics.

So how do I feel? I'm leaning more on the welcoming side, but it still makes me think of what they're going to remake next.
Diamond and Pearl?
Red and Blue again?

I don't know but I have ORAS pre-ordered and I'm looking forward to playing them.

Super Smash Bros. 3DS Demo Review

So about a week and a half ago Nintendo sent me some demo codes for the 3DS version of Super Smash Bros.
After giving the extra codes away to my friends and people who asked nicely, I decided to play it...
And since the public demo was released last Friday, I figured I'd finally share my thoughts on it.

But before I do that...
  • Battle Mode is the only mode
  • Final Destination is the only stage
  • There are only five playable characters (Mario, Link, Pikachu, the Villager, and Mega Man)

So my thoughts?
It's fun.
That's it.
Here's the part where IGN hires me as a reviewer.

Thank you.
I'll see you next time.

But all jokes aside, it is truly a fun game.
Sure I'm judging from what I played in a demo, but it did it's job and got me excited for October 3rd.

It's on the 3DS so there's a lot to get used to. Mainly the controls and the screen size.
There's a reason why the characters have a dark border around them.
It's so they're easier to see while playing.

Once you get used to it, you'll have fun...
Don't expect a super competitive game,
Expect a fun way to kill some time.

This isn't Melee, it isn't Brawl... It's the 3DS demo version for SSB4.

With that said, I do expect the WiiU version to be a lot better.
Handheld versions of Console games are hard to do right and don't do the console version Justice.

In this case, I think Nintendo, HAL Labs, and Namco did a great job and I can't wait to play the full game.

Mega Man was as awesome as I expected, the Villager was also fun to play as and may become part of my character rotation.

October 3rd can't come any sooner and should hold me over... At least until ORAS come out.

Thoughts on Gotham

You know what no one asked for?
Another Batman origin.

You wanna know what no one REALLY asked for?
A Batman origin WITHOUT Batman.

Seems very counter-productive.
But alas we got Gotham.
A Crime Drama that takes place in a Pre-Batman Gotham City.

Gotham follows Commissioner Gordon... Detective Jim Gordon,
as he tries his best to clean up Gotham.

Without spoiling it,

I like it so far.
It isn't the best DC Comics show...
but it's the best live-action Show about Gotham City before Batman on TV right now.
So it has that going for it.

One major gripe that I have is that the Pilot had WAY too many cameos.

A few cameos would've been great, but I felt they were putting in way too many out of fear that Batman fans would stop watching.
They don't need to over-saturate the show with Cameos.
Sprinkle the cameos in randomly, it'll work better that way.

But maybe they're scared they'll get cancelled after one season...
Like Fox does with a lot of great shows...
*cough* *cough* Firefly

5 Heroes/Teams I Want to See Turned into Shows

DC/Warner Bros. my be having a bit weak on the big screen, but they seem to have the small screen locked down.

With the popular Arrow, the soon to premiere Flash and Gotham that premiered tonight you'd think that DC would have enough on their hands...
Nope. They recently announced a Teen Titans show with Nightwing as the lead, and a Supergirl show...

I'm not a math major but I'm pretty sure that's 5 shows.

So here are 5 (live action) shows based on DC Heroes that I'd like to see...
in no particular order...

5) Aquaman - Aquaman gets no respect. He's one of my favorites who's severely underrated. He controls 70% of Earth. Let's show the (Aqua)Man some respect.
If you like him or not, there's no denying that the setting alone will be set up some adventures and stories that cannot be told in any other series, with any other hero.
The CW can call it something like... "ATLANTIS" or "AQUA"
that ladies and gentlemen is another reason why I won't be allowed to name my kid.

4) Blue Beetle (Ted Kord) and Booster Gold - Need I say more? Yes. I have to. I need substance for this blog.
Their relationship is a fun one and will lend for some awesome stories and moments. It's like a much better buddy cop show. MUCH BETTER.

3) Static - Static is probably best known for his Saturday morning cartoon. As bright as the show was the comics had a MUCH darker tone which would work perfectly on TV. Not just that but Static being a Teenager will also mean different problems than Oliver Queen or Barry Allen.

2) Blue Beetle (Jaime Reyes) - For a lot of the same reasons as Static. Teenage Hero has a different set of problems than their Adult counterparts. But Jaime is different than Static... he has an Alien Scarab attached to his back which gives him his powers. Jaime has very little control of it at the start and slowly gains more control.
Trying to live a normal life at the same time = great television.

1) Green Lantern Corps. - Not Just Hal Jordan or Jon Stewart,,, all of them. Kyle Rayner, Guy Gardner, Simon Baz, and even Alan Scott.
This one is probably going to be the hardest to pull off... but this is my list and I'm not taking the logistics into consideration,
Also, it may seem biased since I'm a HUGE Green Lantern fan... that's because it is...
I'm biased. I'm totally biased but GLC would make a great show.
Think of all the best/popular cop shows... now put them in space... yeah. Space Cops.
Call it "OA" and throw it on the CW.
Just keep Martin Campbell away from this. Far. Far away.

Are there any heroes you'd like to see on the Small Screen?

Let me know!

VGHS at The Streamys

I'd like to take some time to congratulate everyone at RocketJump.

They're some of the hardest working group of people I've ever gotten to meet.
Their hard work and dedication is getting some well-deserved recognition.
They took home some Streamys for Video Game High School last night.

The won awards in the following categories:

  • Ensemble Cast
  • Directing
  • Action and Sci-Fi
They were also nominated in several others, but unfortunately didn't take those home.

They've announced, and teased some upcoming projects which make me excited for their future.
I can't wait to see them continue to grow and to continue to gain success in whatever they do.

Steam: My Addiction

I have a problem.

It's a First World Problem, possibly the most first world problem there is.
but it's a problem nonetheless.

I have 68 games in my Steam Library... 63 of which I haven't even opened yet.

In my defense I own the console versions of some of these games, so I never felt the need to play them...
Actually... That probably makes things worse doesn't it?

My lack of self-control is not to blame here...
I blame Humble Bundles & Steam Sales.

I never understood how a girl can buy a pair of shoes that she didn't need until I experienced my first Steam Summer Sale.

and never play it...

There are a games that I've bought more than once.
Just because they were on sale...
I already owned them, I hadn't even played them... but shit, they were 99cents!
I'm not sure what's worse, my addiction to buying Steam Games or making a Macklemore reference.

No but really, this is a problem...

Here's a list of all of the games I own on Steam:

Donald Glover is Spider-Man

Marvel announced that they cast actor/comedian/rapper/idol of mine Donald Glover as Spider-Man.

Before comic book "purists" get their Spider-Man panties (Spider-Manties?) in a bunch he is not replacing Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker... He's not even playing him in a Live-Action role.
He's playing the version of Spider-Man he helped inspire Miles Morales for "Marvel's Ultimate Spider-Man: Web Warriors" on Disney XD.

I'm really happy that he was cast, it's like when Samuel L. Jackson was cast as Nick Fury after his likeness was used as the inspiration for Fury's new design.

ALS - Ice Bucket Challenge

The Ice Bucket challenge bugs me a little.
just a little...

What it's supposed to be is a way to both raise money for research and raise awareness to the cause.
It's done a good job of doing both.
That's not what bugs me.

What bugs me are the people who do the Ice Bucket Challenge wrong.
Like not mentioning ALS or not mentioning where they can donate/find out more info.

Pretty much just dumping cold water on their heads for the sake of following a trend.
People doing it for the sake of attracting attention to themselves... that bugs me.

I've seen so many videos from people just dumping cold water on their heads and calling out three more people.
No mention of the cause, no call to action... nothing.

Also, while we're on the topic of doing The Ice Bucket Challenge wrong, can we make sure there's ice in your buckets.
I've seen people just pour water on their heads. Just plain (probably room temperature) water.
That's cheating.

That being said, I haven't been called out yet.
People must realize that I'm so cool the low temperature of the water will have no affect on me.
If you want to find out more information regarding ALS go to
or to donate visit:

My Thoughts on TMNT 2014

I reluctantly saw Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie...

I was expecting it to be totally awful... It wasn't TOTALLY awful.
But it was kind of awful...

The Turtles themselves were great...the movie surrounding them...not so great...
It was filled with plot holes, and reasons to keep Megan O'Neil around...

with that being said...typed?...

I wasn't the worst thing in the world...
Sure, it wasn't a cinematic masterpiece but it had its moments where I truly enjoyed it.

It added some elements that hadn't really been seen in other incarnations of the turtles.

and the Turtles (aside from looking like nightmare fuel) were REALLY enjoyable to watch.
They felt like the Ninja Turtles I know and love...

... then there's the Michael Bay Factor....

I had been on a "Baycott' for a while before actually seeing the movie...
Even though he only produced it... it was still a Michael Bay movie...
explosions... bad acting... cheesy jokes... attractive women for the sake of having an attractive woman... it was all there.

Watching it, it kind of felt like a Transformers Movie *cough**cough*Shredder*cough**cough*

The movie also focused too much on the human characters...
it's a Ninja Turtles Movie... they should be front and center for at least 90% of the movie.

I'm actually considering watching the already announced sequel...
no promises though...

Mr. Robin Willams...

I've been very hesitant to write about this.
Everyone is doing it and I don't want it to look like I'm doing it for the sake of following a trend...
on the other hand I want to talk about it and talking about anything else would just feel wrong...

So here it goes.

Robin Williams...

Up until recently I've never lived in a world without Robin Williams.
He had always been around. I would've never been able to imagine a world without him.
and to be honest... I still can't.
I'm having a hard time believing it.
This person who brought me so much happiness and laughter...
Someone who helped mold my sense of humor and personality...
Someone who taught me that being a big kid, a goof ball was okay.
I can be myself... he taught me that.
Although I never met him, I feel like I knew him.
A hero of mine, someone I looked up to...

But he was a husband and a father before being an entertainer...
so to his family, I want to give my condolences.

Both Robin Williams and his family are in my thoughts and prayers.

To Robin Williams.

Thank you for the laughter.
Thank you for the many stories.
Thank you for the lessons.
Thank you for everything.
