Green Lantern sequel… trilogy?

So for anyone who saw the Green Lantern movie, you know that by the way it ended it definitely left room for a sequel.

From what I know there is a high possibility for a trilogy (which was the original plan).

It is even reported that Warner Bros. even planned on abandoning all plans for a sequel due to it’s poor box office performance but at the 2011 New York Comic-Con Geoff Johns (Chief Creative Officer at Warner Bros. DC Entertainment) stated that "There is the hope" that a Green Lantern sequel will still be produced and that, "It will be live-action again -- I guarantee.”

So there are plans to make this happen.

All I want is a good Green Lantern Movie.

The last one that was made wasn’t bad but I felt it didn’t do Justice to the intergalactic space cop we all know and love.

Let’s hope that the next Green Lantern movie is better than the first.

The Lorax

Well...
I'm not all the excited for the upcoming Lorax Movie.
and it's not because it might look bad (it doesn't, it actually looks like it could be pretty enjoyable)
But the reason why I'm not excited is more of a personal issue.

You see, I played the Lorax in a play a few years back. I had a blast doing so, I discovered how much I love acting, and performing; Also While working on this play I met one of my closest friends Grrsom.

So I ended telling myself that if there was ever a Movie based on the Lorax I would Audition...
and I didn't. By the time I found out that there was ever going to be a Lorax Movie it was already too late...

And for those who don't know The Lorax is based on the Dr. Suess book of the same name.

But I'm still going to see this movie, I'm still going to take my Two year old god daughter to see it. I'm going to buy her the book, buy her the movie when it's out on DVD or BluRay, give her the Lorax Plush I bought a few years back.

I love Danny DeVito so I'm not that upset.

Here's the Trailer:

P.S.

Happy Birthday to my Best friend Grrsom,
He was my Co-Star during our Lorax play.

This post was for you!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Reboot

From what I understand Paramount is in negotiations with Jonathan Liebesman (Director of "Wrath of the Titans") to direct Paramount's live-action reboot of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles."

The reboot is based off a script from Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec with Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form producing for Platinum Dunes.

Michael Bay is involved? I'm going to expect a lot of explosions...

Plot details are being kept secret except it would be a new re-imaging of the comic and cartoon series.

I don't know what kind of character style they're going to use.
whether it's the Goofy nature of the Turtles from the first three films, or the more serious nature from the Most recent "TMNT"

My guess is that they're gonna go with the attitudes from the Upcoming Nickelodeon cartoon.
The cartoon has yet to air so I can't give any detail on it.

but I will say that being a Ninja Turtle fan, and watching the Original 3 movies during my youth I really want this project to be handled with care so that the Original fans like it while it makes it possible for new fans to enjoy it too.

Twisted Metal: The Movie?

According to Deadline, Sony Pictures has made a preemptive 7-figure deal with Brian Taylor (co-director of Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance) to write and direct a live action adaptation of the video game Twisted Metal. Avi and Ari Arad will produce the film based on the video game that has been published various times on different consoles by Sony. The best selling video games coincidentally released The newest version of the game last Wednesday for PlayStation 3.

The film will 'revolve around an underground event that pits a number of combatants in a fight to the death. They are outfitted in armored weaponized cars that are pimped out with heavy weaponry that includes missiles and machine guns. Some drop mines or launch electrical charges. The proprietor of the race is Calypso, a string-puller dedicating to examining the human condition, such as what makes a peaceful man violent, what terrifies a violent man and who will make a Faustian bargain in which they risk their lives. The sole survivor will get any wish granted.
Sources indicate that characters from the game will be included such as 'Sweet Tooth, a homicidal clown who drives an ice cream truck, and Doll Face, a young woman who is trapped behind a porcelain mask and who drives an 18-wheeler.'

I'm curious (and a little excited) to see what comes out of this project.
I played the Original games when I was younger and I always had a good time. I think it will be cool to see it on the big screen (although Hollywood hardly ever makes any good movies that are based on video games)

Come to think of it... this is kinda like Death Race...

The Dark Knight Rises

Here I go about to share my thoughts on the Dark Knight Rises.
So I can't really say that this is going to be the last Batman movie, all I could say that this will only be the last Batman movie directed by Christopher Nolan, and most likely the last starring Christian Bale. All I really know about this film is that Tom Hardy will be playing Bane, Anne Hathaway is playing Selina Kyle (Catwoman), and Liam Neeson will play Ra's al Ghul, with Joseph Gordon-Levitt as a cop... I think...

Well judging from the trailer it looks pretty good. My biggest concern is the actors chosen who were chose to Play Bane and Catwoman.
I honestly don't think Bane is big enough, it's also pretty difficult to understand what he's trying to say under the mask and with the way he's speaking (and I thought Christian Bale's Batman voice was bad), also Anne Hathaway (although she's beautiful) is no Selina Kyle, The Selina Kyle from the comics I don't think either of them are fit for their roles.
But I'll give them a chance since that's what everyone said about Heath Ledger playing the Joker and he did an amazing job!

So as a big DC Comics fan and as someone who loved the Dark Knight, I'll give this movie a chance.
Christopher Nolan has yet to disappointed me with his Batman movies.

The Amazing Spider-Man: International Theatrical Trailer

A new international version of The Amazing Spider-Man trailer has been released by Sony Pictures International and even includes some new footage.

I swear the more footage of this movie I see the more I get excited about it.

July 3rd 2012 can't come any quicker.

Ghostbusters 3?

Dan Aykroyd hinted that his next big-screen project "Ghostbusters 3" that he plans on recasting Peter Venkman with another actor since Bill Murray (the original actor) doesn't want to reprise his role.

There was a rumor going around last year that Bill Murray received a copy of the script and returned it (Shredded) stating that "No-one wants to pay money to see fat, old men chasing ghosts." Dan Commented by saying that "Bill Murray is not capable of such behavior. This is simply something that would not be in his nature." He also added, "Bill has too much positive estimation of my writing skills to shred the work."

He also stated "We have a deep, private personal relationship that transcends business," and commented on Murray's refusal to return with "We communicate frequently and his position on the involvement in 'Ghostbusters 3' has been made clear and I respect that."

And since Murray is most likely to not join Dan Aykroyd hopes to get Rick Moranis to rejoin in the upcoming film. "If we can get the script to Ghostbusters 3 right, then it would definitely have Moranis as a major component. None of us would want to do the movie without having him as a participant." Aykroyed stated.

I feel that people would pay to see, and I quote "Fat, Old men chase ghosts" (I know I would)

But, Ghostbusters wouldn't be the same without Bill Murray, and if we get Rick Moranis the better right?

C'mon Bill you've made us suffer through both Garfield movies. this is the least you can do...

Transformers 4

It seems like I've been talking a lot about Hasbro in the film industry (Which I have)
Well, It is official,
There will be a Transformers 4, and not how they originally wanted it where they were going to film Transformers 4 & 5 at the same time. Michael Bay will return to Direct the next installment to the popular franchise based on the Hasbro Toy line. From what I understand Steven Spielberg and Michael Bay are meeting up soon to toss ideas around while Paramount is in the process of hiring a writer. It is unclear on whether or not anyone from the 1st 3 films will return but MichaelBay.com promises it ”will bring audiences a new take on the Transformers franchise”

I’m curious to see what comes out of this.
I haven't had the best experience with the Michael Bay Transformers movies. I liked the first Transformers movie, I didn’t really care for the second one, and I didn’t even bother with the third. So I’m not super excited about this film.I will however give it a chance, but it seems like another excuse for Hasbro to sell more toys which is Ironic because the toys based on the movie are usually the worst in quality and are the ones that receive the most complaints by collectors.

Let’s see where this goes and all we can do is hope for the best…

G.I. Joe: Retaliation

it seems to me that Hasbro is Licensing all of their properties to be made into Live-Action movies (I kid)

But during the Big game a trailer for the upcoming G.I. Joe movie was released.

I saw the first one and I (for the most part) enjoyed it. but it did however receive mixed to negative reviews on many websites. Stating that it didn't stay true to the Original source material. some even compared it to Team America: World Police without the Humor.

but what about this one?

So right off the bat I know it stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. I know that it will have some action, and special effects. I also know that Bruce Willis is starring in it as well. but that's about it. it doesn't hint at a plot, and besides Snake Eyes... I'm not really sure if any other characters from The Rise of Cobra are returning.

I know there's still a few months before this movie comes out but I'm not sure if I'm too excited for this movie to come out. We'll see what else Paramount Studios gives us.

Universal and Harbro's Movie Deal sinks...

So on Wednesday February 8th, 2012 Universal Studios decided that maybe making movies based on Board games wasn't as good of an idea as they had originally thought so they ended what would've been a 6 year contract with Hasbro, after Universal paid Hasbro a Multi-million settlement.  From that deal Universal would've made at least 4 feature films, so far it's only made one (Battleship. ugh)

What does this mean? well they'll probably not going to be remaking Clue which is based on another Popular board game by Hasbro, it probably won't see the light of day unless some other studio picks it up.

There were going to be a few other movies based on Hasbro toys that have been Dropped by Universal which were Candyland (Starring Adam Sandler) which was picked up by Sony Pictures, and Stretch Armstrong (Starring Taylor Lautner) which was picked up by Relativity Media.

So Hasbro isn't out of the Movie business just yet.

We'll see where this goes, and how the story progresses with time.

Battleship

Like many guys my age I grew up playing the Iconic Board game: Battleship.

It was one of my favorite games growing up and I have many fond memories of playing it with my Younger brother, cousins, and friends so when I heard that they were making a movie out of a board game that sits so near and dear to my heart I automatically feared for the worst. You see Hollywood has a tendency of messing with my childhood. and messing up some of the stuff I grew up with and love very much (Dragonball Z, The Green Lantern, Avatar the last Airbender). so I guess it makes sense right?

So on Sunday during the Superbowl a 60 second trailer for Battleship aired.
at first glance it looks like a Transformers movie...
Really, nothing in this Movie (so far) Resembles the board game. it actually looks like this could have been from a rejected Transformers script.

There are Alien Robots (I don't remember these from the game), a lot of explosions, and Rihanna...
Really? Rihanna? I have no idea why they would cast Rihanna in anything...

The only good thing about this Movie is the always Awesome Liam Neeson... but that's about it...
Oh and the guy who played Gambit in X-Men Origins: Wolverine is in it too...

In all fairness if it didn't have the Battleship name I'd probably have different feelings towards this movie, It could have been good enough for me to go out of my way to see this... I'll probably wait until it comes out on DVD and Rent. it.

Well here's the trailer in case you wanted to see it.

The Avengers

So on Sunday February 5th 2012 a Trailer for the upcoming Avengers movie was released during the Superbowl/
it is reported that Disney paid an estimated $4 Million dollars for the 35 second trailer to air... wow...

I know a whole lot of ways to spend that money in a much better way, and I'm sure they could have used a different marketing approach that would've cost them a lot less and probably gotten them the same (if not more) views...but anyway... about the trailer!

it was actually pretty good.
Although I felt it was missing something, I'm not really sure what.. but it is... I know it was only 35 seconds but it really didn't do much to get me excited to see this movie.

I'm already excited enough for this movie but the trailer didn't raise my expectations at all...

I did however see the extended trailer which was a lot better and it got me a little hyped up to see this movie when it comes out in May, but to be fair the extended trailer did add an extra 30 seconds worth of footage.

But my biggest concern is that they have an  All-Star cast, they have Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawk Eye), and Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury) all of them already made names for themselves in Hollywood, and they're playing some very well recognized and admired heroes. it makes me wonder how much screen time each Hero will get and whether or not it will affect the overall film in a negative way. I hope that isn't the case and I'm sure I'm just paranoid. But I'm going to see this movie regardless.

The Amazing Spider-Man

So Just a few days a go the newest trailer for the Amazing Spider-Man was released. Coincidentally I had been talking to a few of my friends about it and how it was probably going to be better that the original first three movies starring Toby
Maguire.

The biggest plus for me is that from what I can see it looks like it’s going to be more comic accurate than the original three.

We have Gwen Stacy (Played by Emma Stone) instead of Mary Jane, he has web shooters instead of the "Organic" ones he had in the last three movies, plus...HE'S Sarcastic!

Right off the bat we can see that this movie takes on a much darker tone, you can see just by the way the scenery looks. Not only that but Peter starts to look into his past to find out more about his parents.

I like what I see and I’m definitely going to see this movie!

I saw this trailer and I was amazed. I liked what I saw.
