Nerd Rage - Trolls

Jimmy gets trolled and the worst happens. his Nerd rage comes out.

The whole process from the idea to the filming was very last minute and we did it in a matter of about 30 minutes. but I think we pulled it off nicely.

Freddie W. and Brandon L.

So a few nights ago the very awesome and very talented Freddie Wong announced that he and his equally Awesome and equally talented partner Brandon were going to be waiters for the day at a restaurant near Los Angeles.
Being FreddieW fans the crew and I decided it’d be cool to go, grab a bite to eat and maybe even get to hang out with the guys.
Seeing that it was short notice, and it was on a Tuesday night; we thought there would be a lot less people, but it was pretty packed. We were fortunate enough to go inside early. There was still a line when we left the restaurant over an hour later.

But I fell that both Brandon and Freddie did awesome jobs, taking orders, serving drinks, and delivering meals all while being followed by cameras and having an eatery full of people cheering for you, and trying to get your attention for pictures, autographs, hugs, and even some conversation.

I kept my cool during most of the havoc, only asking for pictures when Freddie and Brandon were close, I got several high fives while I was there and it was an awesome experience.

The food took a little longer than it normally would at any other given time, but given the situation we let it slide. The food was actually pretty good and the regular staff did an awesome job ensuring that everything went as smoothly as it possibly could.

So with that being said I leave you with some pictures that I managed to take with Freddie and Brandon,

Freddie and I
Brandon and I
for some reason it looks like I'm giving Brandon the 'WTF are you doing" face, I'm not in reality Grrsom took the picture late and I thought the pic was taken when it wasn't I was actually turning around to thank him.

A Blue October in September…

Over the weekend (Sunday September 11, 2011) I got the opportunity to go see the Band Blue October with one of my best friends Erik at the House of Blues in Anaheim, California.
It was an awesome experience; everyone who performed was awesome.
The Openings were awesome.
Ashleigh Stone had such an awesome voice and was very “Lovely”, and the band IAmDynamite was very entertaining; the two-man team definitely did a good job hyping the crowd up for the main event.

Now lets mover on to the main event and the reason everyone was there…
Blue October.
Now I’m going to be honest here this was my first time really listening to Blue October, I mean I had known about them, but I never really gotten the chance to sit down and listen to their music, and I was amazed by the showman ship of the entire band.

Justin Furstenfeld - the band’s front-man did a great job, his awesome voice kept the crowd entertained and having a great time.

Ryan Delahoussaye - otherwise known as “the violin guy” by a fan who was standing behind me was my favorite of the band, he was moving around having a great time, my favorite part was when he played the star spangled banner on the electric violin.

Julian Mandrake – The band’s guitarist, very quiet but his present was definitely felt, he was an awesome guitarist and he kinda reminded me of my Buddy Grrsom.

Matt Noveskey – The Bass player, he did a great job, he was in the background but he kept the rhythm, one of the best bass players I’ve seen in a while.

Jeremy Furstenfeld – last but not least we got the drummer, he…was…awesome, he kept the show going and did an awesome job, he was in the back but you knew he was there.

Overall I had a very enjoyable experience (apart from all of that standing).
And since it was in Downtown Disney the experience felt a little bit magical,

Wake me up…. when September ends…

Yes I just quoted Green Day,
So I woke up this morning from a Tiring three-day weekend (No Rest son!) and my alarm plays one random song from my iPod and that was it. “Wake me up when September Ends” by Green Day which coincidentally is how I feel right now.

I want a month’s worth of sleep…
But I don’t want this month to end right away.

I have some pretty awesome things planned for this month and I honesty can’t wait.

But other than my Groggyness I’m doing well.

This past weekend was Labor Day weekend and I was out of town at my Family Reunion. It was a good time as it usually is, it was a little boring at times but the positives outweigh the negatives on this one.

My family all pitched it to rent one of those huge inflatable water slides, which added to the fun; and it was a great way to cool down from the heat

Overall I wanna thank all of the family that I got the chance to enjoy this labor day weekend with,
We laughed, we played, we argued, and we pigged out.

Let’s do it again next year, yeah?

Jimmy Facts...

August 26th already?

Where has the time gone?
I swear it feels like the summer just started and it’s already coming to an end.

For some summer is over when they go back to school, and I just finished my second week of school so I guess my summer was officially over last week.

Well this summer has been an awesome one, but it’s not 100% over so let’s see how it ends. But for the most part it’s been amazing and the people that shared it with me might be able to agree with me on that.

I want to take this time to share some facts about me.
Some you may know (Just by reading my posts and watching my videos) and others you probably had no idea so… let’s get started.

  1. My favorite food is (Probably) Carne Asada Fries; it takes some of my favorite foods (Carne Asada, French Fries, and Cheese) and combines them into a delicious mix of awesome.
  2. My favorite movie is Back to the Future (and it’s sequels); It’s one of those movies that I can watch anytime and still be into it,
  3. The Green Lantern is my all time favorite superhero (Duh); I know it’s pretty obvious just by looking around this site, but hey it’s a fact haha
And that’s 3 facts about me, so if you want to make me happy just pop in any of the Back to the Future movies into the DVD player hand me some Carne Asada Fries and give me some Green Lantern Comics and you’ll be on my good side!

It’s August and do you know what that means?
That means I will be posting more on this blog than I've been doing in previous months.

So this is the First Post of the Month and the first of many.
This month looks very promising and I’m going to take advantage of everything.
I’m planning to put something different on my channel this month so keep on a look out for that.

My YouTube Channel is labeled as a variety channel and I really don't have much variety (yet) and I plan on changing that really soon.
My next video is going to be recorded sometime this week and if I can't get that done it will be a completely different video and it's going to be recorded on Sunday so expect a new video by next wednesday at the Latest!

We so excited and it’s not even Friday!

Still amazing...

Happy Friday everyone,
I hope all is well.

Well today the Green Lantern movie was released and the reviews I've read have been less than pleasant, I have yet to see it but I am going to still see it regardless of all of the reviews I've read.

I've also been playing the "Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters" game on the XBox 360 lately and I gotta say that for a movie game, it's pretty darn good.

I'm also working on a few projects, and on redesigning the look of the website. I'll be doing that over the weekend. I'm going to keep the Green and Black color scheme but I'm going to make it look a lot better since it looks a little bland.
looks like my weekend will be full of coding! <sarcasm>YAY!</sarcasm>

and now I'll leave you with a video that was uploaded to my Friend Erik's YouTube channel.

I make an appearance wearing my Green Lantern hoodie and a Green Lantern hat.

I think my appearance in this video is pretty amazing in it's own way.

Power Gig: Rise of the SixString Review:

So Over the weekend (Saturday Morning to be exact) I went to a favorite store of mine and I saw that they had Power Gig on Sale for $40 Dollars which I thought was a great deal, I had seen it at another store for nearly $200 dollars, so thinking I just snagged a great deal I bought it, I noticed that aside from being bundled with a guitar with real strings, it was also bundled with a Microphone and a Drum kit, which made the deal even sweeter. I was getting all that for $40? It seemed to good to be true.

So an excited me got home to try it out, I already had Guitar Hero World Tour so I didn’t even bother with the Power Gig game at first I was anxious to try out the Drum set,
And here comes my first problem with my purchase.

The “AirStrike” drum set is horrible, at first I thought it was just my game and that it wasn’t compatible but after testing it with the game it came with I realized that it was the kit itself, the motion sensing is really bad, I kept missing the notes, not only that but it used up 6 batteries: 2 batteries per drumstick, and 2 more in the drum kit. Aside from that there is no way to turn off the drumsticks without removing the batteries completely.

Second problem: The Guitar,
The guitar’s whole gimmick was that it looks like a real guitar and that you actually hit the strings on the guitar to hit the notes in the game, which seems like a cool idea but I would’ve loved it if I can actually use it as a real guitar. But that’s beside the point but the controls are bad…

My third problem: The Gameplay.
Well being that you can use instruments from the Guitar Hero and Rockband games I decided (after buying Band Hero) to try out the instruments from that on this game hoping to get better results, it plays okay with the more traditional video game instruments but it doesn’t feel right, it feels like I’m playing a Guitar Hero/Rockband Knockoff. In reality that’s exactly what I was doing.

And finally, my last (Major) problem: The Story
I didn’t get very far before deciding to turn the game off and begin to play a real music game, but from what I saw the story was just plain stupid, I’m not going to go into detail because just thinking about it makes me cringe. But just know that it’s bad, they didn’t even bother with the graphics, they’re just drawing and not good ones either.

So now that I wrote a really bad review for a really bad game is there anything good I’d like to say about it? well…
Maybe the music selection is okay. Not the greatest songs ever but they’re not horrible the only one I liked was “Alive” by P.O.D. but that’s about it.

I really like the concept of this game playing a music game with a real guitar, if they would’ve tried harder to make a good game instead of relying solely on the Gimmick that you were using a “Real” guitar to sell the game this review would be a lot different

But at the end you’re pretty much getting a new addition to something old (new guitar/old game concept) and you’d expect they’d get at least one right but this game Fails epically at both, and I wouldn’t recommend this game to anyone, it’s not worth the $40 and its definitely not worth $200.

I feel like the worst comic book fan ever.

I haven’t bought a comic book in over a year and I haven’t really started reading the Blackest Night yet let alone brightest day.
And I consider myself a Green Lantern fan?
It makes me look like a poser.

One of my biggest pet peeves is someone who claims to be the biggest fan of a particular superhero but has never read any of the comics and goes off of what they see on TV and in the movies. Which is exactly why I’m a little concerned about the Green Lantern Film that comes out next month. Everyone who had who really didn’t know who the Green Lantern was will suddenly become a Green Lantern Fan.

(Notice what happened to Iron Man, before not as many people were fans of the shellhead but as soon as the first movie came out everyone jumped on the bandwagon)

Don’t get me wrong I’m loving the fact the there is More Green Lantern Merch but I’m not looking forward to a bunch of people claiming to be Fans of the Green Lantern in which before they thought there was only one Green Lantern and he was known as the “Black Guy” from the Justice League cartoon.

I’m still with limited Internet, at least for (as of tomorrow) another week.
As soon as I get that up and running I will put up my next video, blog a little more frequently, and I will continue to redesign this website. I have a few ideas in mind that I want to do but I can’t (yet)

All right guys until next time DFTBA!

My Thoughts on the upcoming Green Lantern Film.

And The Countdown Continues as we wait for the Green Lantern Film to be released in theaters,

One of the biggest challenges that DC Comics is facing is that they’re trying to make their other franchises, (Like Green Lantern or The Flash) look amazing. All while trying not to out do their more popular Batman and Superman franchises respectively.
Which may be the reason why they picked Green Lantern to be brought to life on the big screen; because it's well known to comic book fans, while he’s not really known by the average person.

The film is set to be more of an origins story, allowing its viewers know how Hal Jordan became the Green Lantern. It’s pretty simple.

I’m sure that casting the main actor wasn't an easy task, mainly due to issues of who can fill the role and avoid typecasting at all costs.
They ended up casting Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan which (to me) seems to be a huge gamble, for the main reason that he played Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Hannibal King in Blade Trinity. It’s made me wonder if how DC Comics has reacted to all of this.

For a while things haven’t quiet gone DC’s way with Marvel Comics managing to outdo them in everything. Everything from video games, television, films and even putting on the best show at every known comic book convention appearance.

DC Comics really needs the Green Lantern to succeed where the Jonah Hex film failed. If not, DC Comics fans won’t be too happy.

PS. Is it just me or does anyone else think Ryan Reynolds play Wally West (The Flash) a lot better?

My first video, on my new channel!

Just a little message, on who we are, and what we do... or plan to do.
